Cybernetik’s Bag and Drum Palletizer is a specialized packaging system that can operate as a bag palletizer as well as a drum palletizer. A tool changer allows the robotic palletizer to switch between handling drums or bags, one type at a time. With a common gripper for pallets and SKUs, the bag and drum palletizer optimizes cycle time for manufacturers. The robotic palletizer set up includes a track and trace feature for identification and total traceability.
When operating as a bag palletizer, operations begin with the robot placing the pallet on the outfeed conveyor. Next, the reference system finalizes the pallet position. Bags arriving on the infeed conveyor are similarly positioned by another reference system before the robotic palletizer picks up and places them on the pallet. Thereafter, the system rolls out the loaded pallet towards the exit. A tool changer enables the set up to operate as a drum palletizer with the same operational sequence.
